This serum came out very recently and I've been testing it for about a month now, so I thought it was time to tell!
The Clarins Mission Perfection Serum* is anti-spots, promotes a healthy radiance and evens out skin tone.
I must start by saying that I love the package, not only because it's gorgeous (which it is, look at it), but because it has an airless pump and the product comes out of this cushioned tip.
However, I use this serum only in the morning... And I will explain why: before anything else, I have to say I do think this is more of a serum for radiance than it is for spots, so, if that's your only concern, you might want to look elsewhere - but that is one of the reasons I love it in the morning, it's like a shot of luminosity; the texture is also really light and quickly settles into skin, with a soft and fresh scent that I find very nice. I thought it was going to be glittery or at least have a sheen to the texture, but it doesn't and I am A-ok with that.
What happens here is that the formula, even though super lightweight, is heavy on silicones, and the result is beautiful, poreless, smooth skin, but it also means that the products that come next never penetrate as deep as they should... And this has one horrifying effect: if you layer too much, it will inevitibly peel off everything when you are putting on your foundation. It also means it plays well with some products and not so well with others. Using it at night would always be a mistake because you really want the potent night creams to go as deep as they can.
Summing up, very quickly, if you use few products in the morning and you're really looking into illuminating skincare, this is pretty much what you're looking for! The Spring launch was also very well chosen since this is so fresh and light.
If, on the other hand, you love layering and use tons of products (guilty myself sometimes), this product will likely disappoint you unless you wait like 5 minutes between all they layers. Less is more with this one... Otherwise, it will all peel off when you're putting makeup on.
