If there's one thing that really gets me excited, it's my nighttime routine... In the morning, I must admit that if I'm not waking up by myself, I get a bit lazy and it takes a bit of effort to follow through but the night one really gives me pleasure to do.
Therefore, my night creams play a huge role on my stash... And I usually have more open jars than I'd like to... But my skin has been acting really wild and it's always so unpredictable, I may need something one day and the next it's not enough (that's a good excuse, right? ahah).
(I'll mention them in order, from the lighter and "fresher" to the heavier and richer.)
Aurelia's Cell Revitalise Night Moisturiser had caught my eye quite a long time ago... And I bought it from a recommendation of a fellow Portuguese blogger. It's really, really lightweight and it absorbs pretty quickly, even though its got a balm texture. How can I ever explain this? It's really a balm, like it won't budge on its own balm, but when you massage it into skin it kind of melts and turns into a very sorbet-y texture. Not oily at all. I love this! I have to say it isn't enough on its own for me really (you have to understand my skin has been dangerously dehydrated recently). But I think it'd be great for oily and combination skin types, and even normal complexions. I, myself, like to apply it on top of absorbed masks or between layers of oils, but I'd still love it for there to be a richer version of this. (Oh and it smells like baby products, huge plus!) It's specially great for dull skin types. And you can tell this is one of those creams that is rich on water, which is great!
REN's Frankincense Revitalising Night Cream (which is now called V-Cense Revitalising Night Cream) is a bit thicker than the former, but I still use it when my skin is more or so balanced. It's great... Not that I'm surprised, REN is one of my favourite skincare brands - they have amazing products, a clean beauty philosophy which I love and their prices are pretty affordable. I love the texture, it's almost matte, so it's not oily at all and I wake up to soft and smooth skin. I liked it! And recommend it! (And antioxidants never hurt, do they?)
Omorovicza's Rejuvenating Night Cream is a heavier version of the REN one. This travel size came in a Cult Beauty Goodie Bag and I was so happy because I'd been wanting to try the brand for quite a while. I must admit I think it's overpriced, being that it's not much, much more different than the one before. Having said that, it's not a bad product at all and it is more nourishing, better for dryer skin types... But the only one that is enough for me at my worst is the next product.
So now we have Tammy Fender's Spontaneous Recovery Crème* - the only one I hadn't tried from the brand and, since I loved the other two, the expectations were pretty high. And it did not disappoint! It's more matte than the Intensive Repair Balm, which I think is more nourishing and I find this one to be more repairing. So it's a great option for very dehydrated, damaged and sensitive skin types, it's lovely for those of you who need heavy-duty creams but hate the greasiness of the richer ones. (I actually love the oiliness of the creams, but it's nothing an oil or two won't fix, really!)
It's the most expensive Tammy Fender moisturiser but it is so worth it! I actually think it helped me a lot with my acne scarring and everything, it really will leave your skin much better when you're being attacked by whatever skin illness you have. I like it a lot! (Must be great for hypersensitive skin types and/or with rosacea.)
Have you tried any of these? What are your nighttime products?
