So I wasn't even planning on getting this palette from NYX and suddenly I bought two! Ahah I'll explain!

My mum is always on my case because she wants me to get her really bright eyeshadows. She says she always sees me with bright yellow and lime eyeshadows and she wanted them too!
And I first thought of hitting up the NYX store and getting her some singles!
But then I saw this NYX Ultimate Brights Palette and it was so cheap (£16) that I decided to give it a go! I didn't have high hopes for it in terms of pigmentation, which didn't bother me because it just meant that my mum (a shaky makeup applier) wouldn't make a mess of it. Even if it took longer to layer them, it would be fine!
My hopes were also not high because I have a lot of the NYX hot single eyeshadow pans and the mattes are usually not very pigmented and something you build up rather than slap on!

But I diverse.
I bought it! And I swatched it on just to show my mum. WOWZA!
It caught me completely off guard! These swatches I'm showing you are one swipe finger swatches!!! Take a double look at them! ONE SWIPE!

With the weird and only exception of the first raspberry-ish shadow, ALL OF THE REST ARE EXTREMELY CREAMY, BUTTERY, AND PIGMENTED. They're mostly mattes, with a few barely shimmery exceptions. And still. They almost crumble at the touch from how soft they are.

And I tried them on the eyes as well - super pigmented with brushes still, extremely buildable and blendable.
The milky shades, such as the baby lilacs and blues are I'd say 95-100% opaque and the others are around
75-80% opaque but are very buildable and go to 100% very quickly and easily.

I honestly am so flabbergasted by this unexpected purchase that I bought one for myself as I could not part with it to give it to my mum! True story.

At £16 too, it comes about £1 per eyeshadow and only the first one is crappy. So less than £1.1 per eyeshadow if you don't use the first one.

It's a great palette for colour deposit to use with other neutral palettes as a base and it's also great if you want just a splash of pure colour on your eyes every once in a while! I DEFINITELY recommend if you like bright colours and if you love playing around with your eye makeup!!

What do you think? Did I tempt you into buying this?
Or are bright colours not really your thing?
