Hair Talk Part II: Shampoo for Colour-treated hair
As you know, lately I gave my hair up for bleach! It's not regular bleach, I have highlights with a new product from L'ORÉAL PROFESSIONNEL - Majiméches, which a kind of ammonia-free dye that lifts up to 5 levels. And, above everything, it barely damages the hair, which is great! However, I like to be extra careful with my colour, and here are the shampoos I have around the house that take care of my coloured hair:
Reflection Chroma Sensitive Cleansing Balm by KÉRASTASE
Well, I don't know if we can call this a shampoo... It's really what the name says: it's a cleansing balm. No sulfates or all the other crap regular shampoos have that dry up your hair and make your color fade away! This product got me for its softness and for being so tender with my highlights, as well as for the delicateness with my sensitive, super uber sensitive scalp. Texture-wise, it's like a conditioner but your hair will be soft and properly clean after using it (my hair ir super dry, I don't know if it's as good on oily hair types). The only downside is that we have to use a lot more of this than of a regular shampoos, since it doesn't foam. And they recommend that you use it intercalated with your regular shampoo. I love it! Mine is already halfway empty, but I know I'll repurchase it, no doubt!
NouNou Nourishing Illuminating Shampoo by DAVINES
This shampoo was the biggest disappointment ever! First, it smells like chemicals - detergents! There's people who love the advertised "chestnut milk" scent, but I hate it. And, then, YES!, it's full of detergent! It has sulfate and not very little of it either... My hair gets really dry and my scalp gets really irritated. I hate it! I usually like DAVINES, but "nourishing" is exactly what this shampoo is not! And it's not very "illuminating" either... I passed it on to my sister, whose hair and scalp are normal (because I really cannot seem to use it), but she's not in love with it either.
So Pure Color Care Shampoo by KEUNE
This mini-shampoo was offered to me by my hairdresser. I like the fact that it is sulfate and paraben free. And I like the shampoo! The scent is very botanical and very intense but doesn't really linger much after the hair dries! Texture-wise, it's like any other clear shampoo! And the results are... Well, it doesn't really hydrate or nourishes the hair but your color and hair integrity is left intact! I don't love it, but I don't hate it! I think I will still try out more of what's out there! :)
Who of you has dyed or highlighted hair? Did you like any of these products? Do you use a specific shampoo for color treated hair or not really? And what is your favourite shampoo?
